I am calling this “Fine, Designer Signed” jewelry, but in truth I have no idea if it is or isn’t. This ring is stamped inside the band on both sides. On one side, I can make out “925” and near that there is another stamp, but I can’t decipher whether it is letters or an image. On the other side of the inside band are letters, which I assume are the maker, but they make no sense to me. They look like “B-A-D-A-V-I-E” or something. Obviously, this sterling ring has been covered with gold, but I am unsure as to the quality. I also don’t know how to tell if the stone is really opal or not. It is very pretty and casts a pinkish glow. It is not backed and is held in the setting without prongs. I have more pics in my booth and would appreciate any information you could give me. Thank you!

Here is a link to help you determine if the stone is real or synthetic. Because it is not prong set I would think it is synthetic but it looks like a nice stone and most likely just a nice vintage vermeil sterling ring. Still desirable.

Hello – do you think the stone is glass? Is it cold to the touch when you touch it to your upper lip or does it feel room temp.
It could be confetti lucite when they used small pieces of sparkle inside plastic/lucite (this would be the body temp option)
It could also be glass with foil inside. It is not opal.
Calling it a “fine piece” is correct in as much as it is sterling. Not being prong set leads me to believe it is probably from the 1980s.
I don’t recognize BADAVIE but hopefully someone else will.
It’s a very pretty ring and I’m sure someone would love to own and wear it.

Marked 925 but gold colored should be vermeil. I have a piece of that too with CZs in it. Best of luck to you and I have never seen that name either.

Thanks so much for your help, everyone! I finally took the ring to a jeweler who told me it IS synthetic, called a mosaic, so it is not a high-priced gem, but a beauty nonetheless!

It seems to be a typical ring, but I believe that I could see it somewhere. Maybe the last girl from [URL removed] that I met on the weekends had the same, I can’t remember. Why are you so interested in this ring and what are you going to do with this? Just sell it or something else? That is just my interest
