The pin back is a closure that is still in use today by individual artisans. What got my attention was the stone! That is rhodochrosite, a very expensive gemstone but also very fragile. Good that these appear solidly mounted in lace bezels to protect the stone.
Depending on stone size, this is a fairly valuable set.
