I have tried so hard to find an answer to my question for two weeks with no luck. I really am sorry for asking so many. When you look at this Brooch it looks like a clear glass Tulip on a gold tone stem. If you look down into the you see colors of red, green and blue??? You cannot see any color unless you look directly down into the flower.
Does anyone know why it is this way or anything at all about it? I have been collecting vintage jewelry for many years and never saw anything like this. The picture shows a little bit of the color you see.

Sometimes there is a foil paint on the small facet cuts at the base where it is set into the metal that help reflect color up into the piece when the light hits it. Very pretty.

Yes, I believe it is cut glass. I have this located in one of our fashion vintage jewelry books. Shall update to edit with info once I locate the reference book for you. Good luck!

I cannot find a mark anywhere but it looks like a rather expensive piece. I know you can’t tell by my poor picture.

Do a search for Swarovski Collectible Memories rose brooch.
Yours looks like one of them, or close, but I am not positive, and it should have a swan mark on it somewhere if it is.
Here’s a completed listing from ebay, picture is [URL removed]

There is a similar pin on ebay search Goldtone Faceted Clear Glass Crystal Tulip Flower Pin to see it. Looks similar gold is different but I think the crystal bud is the same. Hope this helps. Yetta

The reason you see colors is that the cut rose bud is made of lead crystal – which reflects color. It’s a really lovely piece!
Look on the back of it to see if you see a mark that looks something like a swan. That would be one of the possible Swarovski marks. Take a look at a location called illusion jewels (d0t) com and go to their Researching Costume jewelry section, click on the letter S and you can see photos of many of Swarovski’s marks.
The Illusion Jewels site is a must-bookmark for anyone who sells vintage costume jewelry. A good resource.
