I am pretty sure this is vintage but have no idea how old.

This cat I found looks to be vintage to me but I am not really sure. Was wondering if anyone has ever seen one before or would know where I would look for more info on it. I posted pictures of the cat in my booth. Just search by newest and you will see it. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Not sure what you mean by chalky.

This peice is 5 1/2 inchaes tall.
It does have a clear coat but is like a mat-type finish (not shiny).
It is hollow.
Does seem to have a chain type hook on it’s neck.
Inside is not chalky feeling and seems to be the same finish as outside.

I have now found out that the cat was made by Lipper & Mann!!! Yes it is suppose to come with 2 kittens that attach by chains. Thanx to all whom helped :)

Now I am on a quest to find info on the other set I listed. I have found some that are simialr but not identical to the one I have. Ones I am finding are white (my cats are very light pink). Also the others I have found have different color bows (mine has red). Here is a picture of what I am working on now>>>>

Personally I was thinking more 1940s style. It appears to be a pottery body rather than china or porcelain. The name on the paw could be the makers name or a previous owner. It grows on you. You didn’t say how big it was but I’m guessing 5 or 6" tall? It looks like it might be a Made in Japan piece but with the unglazed bottoms the stamps can be worn off from years of moving it around.

The tiny metal piece under its neck looks like the animal sets that were joined with thin chain. Usuall one larger animal representating the “momma” with several smaller “babies” attached. I have a set of pink poodles like that. They have a foil Lefton Japan sticker on the bottom.

I also had a set of Enesco cat figurines that resemble your kitty.

Fay…I believe those 3 ’’spaghetti’’ cats to be ’’Napco’’
See [URL removed] [URL removed]

however they might also be by ‘’Royal Sealy’’ Japan
or [URL removed] [URL removed]

Editing Here, hon…the ONE about Napco, did you Notice it IS the EXACT Same Number as Yours, that’s about as close as a 80% to 99% Guarantee what you have is from Napco, plus like I said, I think MOST stickers for Lefton have gold or gold and red in them…but someone might come along and correct me…? I had FUN trying to FIND for You, My Pleasure, hon!

Is it chalky? or bisque? Can’t tell from picture, but looks like late 50s early 60s. A good place to start is with google images until you find one like it, or research on ebay looking for one of the same.

I agree with DreamMaker. It is probably a Lefton or Enesco piece from a set of 3 usually popular in the late 50’s and early 60’s.Momma and 2 babies. The place on the bottom looks like a foil sticker may have been on it.I had several Lefton horse figurines in my collection that had pencil writing on their foot.Have no idea what it was for.

I agree with DreamMaker that the metal ring looks like it should have the the two babies attached.
I even think I still have a cat with the chain linking to 2 kittens with fur collars.

The picture with the writing on the foot, it looks like JoAnn (then something unreadable). Yes, looks a lot like Enesco and Lefton I have seen previously, and the remnants of the foil sticker look plausable too. It has “odd” looking eyes. Did you look thru Replacements.com under Enesco or Lefton?

Good luck with it.

Looks like vintage made in Japan to me. Some Lefton and Enesco were made in Japan as well
[URL removed] same eyes Relpo eyes are similar too but I am not sure if they made the sets. I agree it was probably a set from the 60’s like the spagetti dog styles. Japan made lots for different companys
