I have so many different Ty Beanie Babies and was wondering which ones are the most desirable?

Many of the 1st through 4th generation Beanie Babies have retained at least some of their value – in the $7.00 range – while the 5th & 6th generation seem to run between $3.00 and $6.00.
The later issues – 2000 and beyond – seem mixed at best.
I have a very large collection/accumulation of the early items. Have many of them up for sale with an average price of $7.00. Also have several other early period collectibles associated with the Beanie Babies.
The market seems stagnated. I’m sure there are still a few with higher prices, particular some of the “error” issues and 1st generation items.
Overall, would have to say eventually they may come back. In the meantime, I’m listing at what I consider a fair price for generation and condition and hoping for the best…………….

In my recent experience, Beanie Babies are not worth much today, unless you come across a very rare one. Beanie Buddies, though, seem to be more in demand and can sell for more than they originally cost.

I’m no expert, but I am quite sure that if you have beanie babies with tags they are worth more than those without tags. Good luck!

I would think that ones in hard plastic boxes are in better condition.

The dark blue elephant, Peanut, is worth quite a bit, if you can find one. I understand they changed the color to light blue very early on, so there are very few of the dark blue ones.

This is the way I sell Ty Beanie Babies…I sell them at about $18.00 each and try to sell them to teachers and librarians. Teachers and Librarians use them to bring attention to a book in the classroom or library. For instance, the Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle is a book that can showcase a caterpillar or butterfly. The Grouchy Lady Bug by Eric Carle is a book that can showcase a ladybug. My listing title would be Grouchy Ladybug Ty Beanie Baby Teacher Librarian w/tag. You have to research childrens books and try to tie them together in your listing. Used be surprised how many sell this way. Start listing these in the summer when teachers have off and they are ready to buy for their classrooms. Happy sales to you!

From what I had researched the ty beanies did not go to the complete collectible status as they were thought to go to. They are not worth much. I know there was a purple hippo & a grey hippo, but the grey hippo was worth a little bit more as it is not as commonly found. What little bit I had I ended up giving to my grand daughter myself.

I’ve seen the Ty Beanie Slither Snake listed in different places for up to several hundred dollars…don’t know if that is a realistic selling price.
