i hve an old chair that needs fabric cleaning. used the soap nut liquid i sell- anyone have more ideas for old tapestry?
i really did where to place my question.

If you want to do a good quality job and avoid chemical halos, you really want to take the fabric off, and clean it separately, then re-affix it to the chair.
If the chair is completely upholstered instead of just a seat or padding, you are taking on a large, daunting task. My experience has been steamers work very well, depending on the padding.
Something like this is the direction i would go, if you cannot remove the fabric from the chair

If you are looking for a decent steam cleaner with a good attachment, I purchased one from Wal-Mart. It’s a Bissel with a rotating brush on the wand and it does a fantastic job on furniture! Plus round in spots and high traffic areas on carpet. I was amazed at the results I got. All I know is, I purchased it about 2 years ago and the Bissel machine is blue. Hope this helps!
