Item description

Brand new factory sealed vhs tapes are perfect for old school televisions as the image will fill your square frame. Both features are Out Of Print (OOP) in all formats and the uncompressed audio has a more robust sound than its digital counterpart. COCOON: A large indoor swimming pool next to an old folks home has been rented by a large polite man, calling himself Walter (an eerie, understated authority figure played by Brian Dennehy), who has also rented a boat for himself and his young friends. Soon the boat, under the bewildered stewardship of young Jack Bonner (Steve Guttenberg), is bringing back large pods and leaving them in the pool to soak. Don Ameche, Wilford Brimley, and Hume Cronyn star as the Florida retirees who are determined not to let this spoil their covert swimming and dive in anyway. They accidently get "revitalized" by aliens when they swim in their breeding ground. Their wives (Jessica Tandy, Gwen Verdon, and Maureen Stapleton) go for a swim too, so all three old couples now have renewed sex drives and can breakdance. Everyone leaves for another planet forever (or until the sequel) at the end. Best Supporting Actor for Don Ameche and Industrial Light and Magic FX also got an Oscar. COCOON: the Return: In this charming sequel, the old-timers who left Earth for the alien utopia Antarea, return on a rescue mission. It seems oceanographers have discovered the "cocoons" that were deposited on the bottom of the bay and are disturbing them. While an alien team sets about recovering one of their kidnapped fellows, we see a series of reunions between the old human travellers and those they left behind. All 15 cast members from the original are onboard here lending good continuity to the story. Although accustomed to their new peaceful, problem-free planet, they realize the joys they left behind after they are reunited with their stunned families. Yet, for all their happiness, they must once again confront the human frailties of their past. For example, which is better, to live forever on another world, or get sick and die on this one, but at least get to see your grandson playing baseball?
