"A compelling exploration of the estrangements of modern life." (Amazon) Lawrence worked on his first novel for four years, rewriting it three times, before its initial publication in 1911. This edition is from Albatross Books, a German company that published the world's first mass market paperbacks. Though in English, they were intended for European distribution only. This solid copy has tape at the top, over a short spine tear. A front cover crease lightly affects many of the pages. There are tiny stains and some cover soiling, plus some other modest wear; but overall the condition is nicer than this description sounds.
This edition is SCARCE.
