SHAMBLEAU AND OTHERS by Catherine L. Moore Gnome Press, First Edition, 1953 Condition: Very Good in VG+ dust jacket This classic collection (in its only U.S. edition) contains seven novelettes (four featuring Northwest Smith and the other three are Jirel of Joiry stories), all of which originally appeared in Weird Tales in the 1930s. Most of Moore's other writings were in collaboration with her husband, the prolific Henry Kuttner. Moderate shelf wear on the bottom edge of the covers/spine, with more modest wear on the other edges; the back cover is slightly bowed and there's a light wrinkle near the spine foot. Otherwise, the exterior and interior are very nice, with secure binding. The only writing is a small name date on the ffep; the pages are lightly toned. The jacket has small chipping at the spine head, and the spine foot has a bit of creasing and tiny tears, with a short tear along the bottom spine edge, plus some wear on the folds. Else, this is a lovely, unfaded dj; other than a slight corner crease, the flaps are equally nice and unclipped. One of the most desirable of the Gnome Press originals.
