Cattaraugus Cutlery Set Steak Knives Carving Vintage New 8 Pc RARE Antique NIB High Carbon Vanadium Steel Knife Kitchen Cookware Dining Serving Wedding Housewarming Gift Box Purple Velvet and White Set. This is a new set never used in a beautiful purple velvet gift box with the name "Cattaraugus Cutlery Company in gold on the front of the box. The inside of the box is in good condition but the outside has some issues, with some spots on it, as can be seen in the pictures. The cutlery is still covered with the cardboard shields and the carving set is tied in with a white silk ribbon. Still a lovely presentation box for the antique lover. These cutlery pieces are made of a high carbon vanadium steel that is known for it's amazing ability to hold a sharp edge. This is an excellent brand of knife. After the Cattaraugus Cutlery Company closed in 1963 they had merged with the best craftsmen to then become "Case" which is a well known knife company for high quality knives. There are 6 steak knives with white bakelite handles and a lovely carving set with the name engraved on all. They are still sparkly and new never used. There are a couple of little black dots on one of the handles of the steak knives, may be able to get them off, but not anything to worry about they are small. I have pictures if needed. These knives have special instructions on how to care for them. They can tarnish like silver and can be cleaned with silver polish if they ever do, but as you can see, these look just great and have been packed up for years. This amazing set would make a fabulous wedding, housewarming or anytime gift for someone special, or a great addition to your own kitchen service.
