Item description
For sale is a nice vintage Etienne Aigner belt buckle.
The belt buckle is attractive, and nicer than it appears in the photos.
The surface of the buckle is slightly shiny, and has a nice sheen to it.
There is some minor discoloration in the surface of the metal. It is unknown if the discoloration would come off with a cleaning and a polishing, so it may be best to assume that it will not.
The belt buckle is attached to a Etienne Aigner leather belt that is in horrible condition.
The belt of the leather is somewhat dry and has some color loss, but the real issue with the leather is that it
has had additional holes poked in it in a very sloppy manner.
I left the buckle on the leather strip of the belt, as the belt is stamped Etienne Aigner on the inside, and it doesn't appear that the buckle is stamped, although it clearly is the Etienne Aigner logo letters.
My assumption is that the belt part is junky and unusable mainly due to the sloppy holes poked in the end of it, and will be cut off and discarded by the buyer. I would have done this myself had the buckle been marked Etienne Aigner.
Or perhaps some crafty type person could make a bracelet out of it. Surprisingly, the buckle looks pretty good on the wrist, as I just tested this out.
The belt buckle is on the small side. It measures approximately 1 11/16 inches across, and 13/16 inches tall.
It is unknown as to what the buckle is made of. It is a brass color, but is not marked solid brass, so evidently it is not.
The buckle has minor wear, scratching, and some discoloration on the surface.
It could use a cleaning and polishing.
