Ballou, then-Superintendent of Washington schools, who encouraged the city's students to each contribute a nickel for the building of the DC World War Memorial in 1931.) Moderate corner spine end wear and fading on spine, some spotting on side page edges, short edge tear on one page, page darkening (heavy on end papers, light on text pages). Out of print book -- in fact, there appears to have been only this one edition. Thus, quite scarce.
