The Hundredth Chance
Ethel M. Dell
New York: Grosset and Dunlap
Copyright 1917
557 pages
Color frontispiece by Edna Crompton
The binding is in good condition. The pages are clean but lightly tanned with scattered mild foxing and the end papers are foxed. The cover is faded, edge worn, and has many light spots on the back. The rear spine hinge has bug damage and the spine is very faded. Acceptable. Hardcover.
Chapter 1: "My dear Maud, I hope I am not lacking in proper pride. But it is an accepted--though painful--fact that beggars cannot be choosers." Lady Brian spoke with plaintive emphasis the while she drew an elaborate initial in the sand at her feet with the point of her parasol. (0000887)
