The second of three mysteries featuring street photographer partners Bingo Riggs and Handsome Kusak, this time in Iowa, where as outsiders, they are suspected of murder, but tempted into staying when they hear of a hidden bank robbery loot. Rice also wrote the John Malone series that was adapted to a 1951-52 thirteen episode television series 'The Amazing Mr. Malone' starring Lee Tracy. Also adapted to numerous radio plays, and based on the character for the 1950 film 'Mrs. O'Malley and Mr. Malone' starring James Whitmore and Marjorie Main. A decently presentable vintage collectible. Rubbing to the lower shelf edges, and to the upper and lower spine edges, pages starting to tan as usual, else very good, square and quite firm in polished green textured boards with reverse titles to a yellow-green panel to the front cover, and with reverse titles, yellow-green panels and yellow-green titles to the spine; in a very good dust jacket with shelf-edge chips, creases and tears, chips and creases to the upper and lower spine ends, and rubbing to the spine folds; original printed price code 049 still intact to the front inner flap.
