Item description
Offered is a beautiful piece of studio pottery created by Internationally recognized potter, Charles Counts, (1934-2000). Counts operated several studios in the Southern US and was influenced by the Bauhaus Movement. Eventually he moved to Africa, working and teaching in Nigeria. This is a link to a magazine story about his life. https://www.themagazineantiques.com/article/potter-with-a-purpose/ .This piece by Counts was probably made around 1970 and is a tall,11 1/2", covered vessel or vase. To my eve, the decoration would seem to be an abstract design of the sun over a landscape. The piece and its lid are in excellent condition, with no flakes, chips or cracks. Buyer responsible for shipping cost. Purchase price refunded if item is not as described.
