This Mystery League edition has the same quality binding, design, and jacket art as the 1939 Doubleday Doran first edition. A standalone whodunit mystery that deals with two murders in a plane's test flights, is mainly set in St. Louis, Missouri, and a plantation along Bayou Tech in rural Louisiana where the suspects travel to attend a wedding. A classic trademark mystery style by Eberhart who had nine of her mysteries adapted to films. Lightly crimped to the lower spine edge, former owner's vintage inked name in tiny script to the front end-paper, minutely crimped to the upper edge of the rear cover, else near fine, square and firm in silver-gray linen with violet embossed scarf end to the front cover that wraps around to completion on the spine that also has violet titles and borders, upper page edges pale red, deckle page fore-edges; in a very good dust jacket with shelf-edge tears, some light rubs to the front and rear panels, a very small chip to the front panel's upper shelf-edge, rubs, small chips and creases to the upper and lower spine edges; original printed 311-39 date code still intact to the front inner flap.
