Sony PCM 2500 A/B DAT recorder serviced and and 50 similar items

Your looking at a one of kind DAT recorder based on the Sony DTC 1000es recorder that was use in both the consumer and commercial recording fields. Very open sound-stage with lifelike sound, better than CD quality. This is one of the most reliable models out here due to the fewer moving parts in the loading mechanism and the heavy use of more metal parts rather than plastic. This unit also has a universal voltage switch so it can work in different countries that have 240,220,120 or100 volts. This unit also has a error checking feature that I like which the DTC -1000es doesn't have. As you play a tape the recorder will show you in real time the errors it's correcting off the tape. If the light doesn't light or stays green you are ok, If green and Yellow both come on you have a damaged tape or your azimuth is out of alignment or your playing a tape recorded on machine that was out of alignment. This model has a custom modified LED tray light with a dimmer that I put in myself for easier viewing of the tapes while they are playing, you can adjust the light to see the tapes better.( you won 't find this on other Sony models) This unit has been scope aligned and tracking adjusted and will play tapes created on different brands such as Tascam, Fostex and Panasonic. All belts and pinch rollers have been replaced. pots, switches, connectors and controls have been cleaned and lubricated new grease. Rotary head has been replaced, mode switch gear repaired. Caps on the RF Amp have been replaced. I've been a repair tech for many years so rest easy the unit will work. I have also created some Extended long play and record DAT tapes which allow you to record up to 4hrs at full 48khz resolution. as this unit doesn't have a 32khz long record/play mode. These tapes will also be included with your purchase. I will also include a tracking adjustment tape with instructions so that you can align the unit yourself. Unit comes with Audio Cables, DAT tape and manuals. Unit has minor scuffs and imperfections due use but is in good working order please see video. Finding one of these rare units in good working order is very hard. Don 't wait until some else snatches this unit up because once it's gone it's gone. I'm still looking for a remote control to add to the bundle, once I find one everything will be updated. Price is final no special deals.
