Item description
These vintage 1920s-1940s round cufflinks feature an engine-turned or etched pattern on the faces. The design is typically framed by a chased or decorative border.
Based on standard Krementz production for this style, they are likely gold-filled or gold overlay. Krementz was renowned for a special plating process that resulted in an overlay approximately 30 times thicker than standard costume jewelry of the time. Often, such pieces use white gold-filled on the faces and yellow gold-filled on the connecting bars and backs.
Krementz Co., founded by George Krementz in 1866, was one of the largest and most respected American manufacturers of luxury men's jewelry.
