50s Pocket Retractable Red Enameled Brass and 49 similar items

Such a cool vintage item… was in a shadow box of mine for a lot of years. The long red cap comes off and the brass brush pushed up with a slide on the side, then use as is, or the tube sleeve fits over the end of the brush to create a longer handle. Still quite clean, but the novelty has been pushed up and down enough times that the outside tips of wires are slightly flared and rub the inside of the sleeve when replaced (look closely at the pictures.) I wouldn’t call it damage, just evidence of its age. Outside length is a little over 3”+ x ”; the red enameling is in good shape, what minor wear showing seems indicative that it lived in someone’s hand bag for a time; the brass wire brush condition was covered in the previous paragraph; the slide is stiff, but works correctly and with a twist will lock into extended position securely; cap is secure and snug; overall, it is in excellent, vintage condition.
