Note From Seller: We took it in to our gold buyer who told us it?s either plated or gold filled wire. We decided it?s in too nice a condition to just sell it for scrap if it?s gold filled. There are no marks and it did not hold up under 10K or 14K acid (scratch test). It did not really reveal any different color underneath after we scratched it on the stone.
In short, your guess is as good as ours. Buy it to wear it. It?s only 7 grams in weight regardless.
