The clasp is covered with spiraled twisted ropes of beads to create a raised button pull tab 1” in diameter. The gold tone plated metal frame is embossed with a lovely pattern adorned along its edge and the beads are wired on to create a complex, raised border. Inside is lined in a warm satin of a thickness and sheen simply not found these days. A sizeable, serviceable pocket is on one side; a tag that reads, “Made in France”. It measures 9” across the top and flares to 10” at the base; 5 ” tall/deep; the built in gusset allows for a generous space to carry compacts, keys, comb, billfold, checkbook, a theatre program, hanky and maybe gloves – all the while looking sophisticated and chic. There are a few beads missing on the clasp frame, but it is hard to tell because there is so much to see; no bald spots, stains inside nor outside; overall, it is in very good, vintage collection.
