By the looks of it, this thing was used once and only once; maybe because there is almost no soot on the lantern's globe. You can easily use this if you have three things present: 1) the fuel supply knob is missing. If you want the EXACT knob, you can easily search the Web and pay lots of money for it. You can also hit up your local handyman/appliance repair/plumbing store; they have TONS of knobs, one of which will fit just fine. 2) the proper, original fuel cannister. This is long ago discontinued but can still be found at estate sales, garage sales, swap meets, etc. 3) the conversion kit. These kits are inexpensive and easily found on the Web and easily cheaply allow you to use this stove and lamp with propane/butane cannisters now prevalent. Price includes the original contains sans cover and domestic shipping. Oh yeah, almost forgot: mantles for the lamp are easily purchased everywhere.
