Æ4/Nummus. 1.05g. 15mm (This is a small coin ~ compare US dime at 17.9mm).
Nicomedia mint. Struck c. September 337-Spring 340 AD.
Obverse: DN CONSTANS P F AVG, laurel and anullet [circles not rosettes] diademed head right of Constans.
Reverse: GLORIA EXERCITVS, (Glory of the Army in latin), two soldiers holding spears and shields, one standard between them, mintmark SMNS in exergue--Nicomedia mint mark.
Ref. RIC VIII Nicomedia 15 (variety~laurel and rosette diadem).
Extremely Fine-AU, attractive shiny olive gray patina. This is a small coin greatly enlarged, thus much nicer in hand.
