This photograph cabinet card captures a handsome and jaunty Victorian era man with a well sculpted handlebar mustache transport us to the late 19th century. This card specifically dates to approximately the 1891-1897 era based upon the dark and gold card stock mount with golden foil embossed lettering, style of mustache and high-buttoned "sack suit", and the studio imprint. ? His reference to "Fine Art Studio" branded his studio from the cheaper booths and suggested he tailored to more affluent clients. The Hayden's Studio located 1214 O Street in Lincoln, Nebraska was his studio location until moving around 1903. Dimensions: Approximately sized 6.5 x 4.25 inches. Photography Technique: Gelatin Silver Print - This technique resulted in the crisp, high-contrast black-and-white (almost silvery) appearance that makes this handsome gentleman with his "superior" mustache and general Victorian grooming appear as if he was on the cover of a magazine today.
