Vintage fiberglass leather firefighter helmet, estimated to be from the 1960s-1980s, featuring an original hand-painted leather front shield marked ?CAPTAIN T.F.D.?
The fiberglass shell has retained its original shape well, with age-appropriate surface wear, paint loss, and cracking from what appears to be many years of use. This helmet shows fireground wear, crazing, damage, and patina consistent with real service use. The liner and suspension are intact, which is usually hard to find. The leather shield remains legible with visible crazing and wear, and appears original to the helmet.
