Item description
A BETTER SUNSET
by John Edward Enck
New York: Exposition Press, (1973).
First edition, first printing.
Un-credited dust jacket art depicts men in high cuffed boots--some on horseback--brandishing swords on a street with skyscrapers on one side and cottages on the other.
The rear panel of the jacket sports an author photo depicting a young 70s styled dude with a pipe in his mouth, typing on an electric typewriter.
A post-apocalyptic science fiction adventure featuring anti-hero John Smith wielding swords, roaming about and getting into 'capers' involving a lost treasure hunt, a lost continent, a slave girl, a wizard, battles, a giant snake, and other types of fun.
The blurb on the front of the jacket promises "A racy rollicking science fiction excursion into the future with a raucous, rakish swashbuckler."
Age-toning to the end-papers, as usual, else fine in burgundy linen with gilt embossed titles to the spine; in a nearly fine dust jacket with a slightly faded spine panel; original $5.00 printed price still intact to the front inner flap.
A scarce 1970s science fiction novel.
Octavo; 127 pages.
