Item description
THE FATE OF THE IMMODEST BLONDE
by Patrick Quentin, pen name of Hugh Wheeler and Richard Wilson Webb.
New York: Pocket Books, Inc., (1950).
First mass-market paperback edition, first printing.
"Pocket Books edition published April 1950" to the copyright page.
Originally published as PUZZLE FOR PILGRIMS in hardcover in 1947 by Simon Schuster, and then later in 1947 as an Armed Services edition.
Winner of the Grand Prix Litterature de Policiere International Prize.
Set in Mexico and filled with rich culture, including bull fights and fiestas.
The sixth mystery featuring Peter Duluth. The fifth Peter Duluth was adapted the 1958 U.K. film titled THE STRANGE AWAKENING .
Tight and probably unread with bright white pages, a tiny surface nick to the front cover's lower edge at the end of a hairline spine joint, a few minute rubs and very mild crimps to the upper front corner, else near fine in glossy stiff-card wraps with John Northcross cover art, with still bright yellow spine, all page edges bright red; original 676 code to the front cover.
