ELINOR RAIDEN JANIS (1934-2009) the artist: American artist and educator Elinor Janis was born on December 8, 1934 in New York City as the daughter of Edward and Lea Raiden. The family later moved to Los Angeles where Elinor received a Bachelor's degree from UCLA, the University of California at Los Angeles.
