A Y-type strainer is a mechanical filtration device installed in a pipe to remove solid debris and particulates from liquids or gases before they can damage valves, pumps, meters, regulators, and other downstream equipment. Its ?Y? shape allows fluid to flow straight through while diverting particles into a removable screen for periodic cleaning.
