This is for a genuine Mercedes original injection pump overflow check valve for the OM616 and OM617 diesel engines among others. Your OFV is actually specified as a maintenance item. Odds are yours is way past due.
These are essentially new with some tool marks from bench testing an OM617 fuel system though this part never saw diesel. The image shown is just an example.
This is the original serviceable(spring) two-piece version. A fresh OFV spring can give a noticeable boost in engine performance if your current spring is shot. Since these injection pumps are aging, adding a stiffer spring gives dramatic results by boosting injection pump element fill rates to original specs.
This original two-piece version is no longer being made. Mercedes now just offers the sealed one-piece design which is not serviceable. This original two-piece design allows you to open the valve to service it and stiffen the spring if desired.
