Item description
House of Emirates and via our online store is proud to present its elite clientele with an exceptional and historically significant Ottoman Empire gold zeri struck during the reign of Sultan Ahmed III (AD 1703?1730 / 1115?1143 AH), one of the most refined periods of Ottoman numismatic artistry.
Minted in Islambul (Istanbul) in AH 1115/ 1703-1704 AD this remarkable gold coin embodies the grandeur of the early 18th-century Ottoman court. The obverse proudly displays the imperial Ottoman tughra of Sultan Ahmed III, a masterful calligraphic emblem symbolizing sovereignty, authority, and divine legitimacy. The reverse features elegant Arabic inscriptions denoting the mint and regnal year, executed with exceptional balance and stylistic harmony.
Struck in pure gold, this zeri weighs 3.45 grams and measures approximately 20 mm in diameter, conforming precisely to the classical Ottoman gold standard of the period. Catalogued and referenced as K.M. 173, this specimen is preserved in Very Fine condition, retaining strong strike details, legible inscriptions, and an attractive original golden patina highly sought after by advanced collectors.
Gold zeris of Sultan Ahmed III are especially prized for their historical context, marking an era of cultural flourishing, diplomatic expansion, and artistic refinement within the Ottoman Empire. This coin stands as both a tangible investment in precious metal and a museum-worthy artifact of Islamic and Middle Eastern history.
A distinguished acquisition for investors of Ottoman, Islamic, and world gold coinage, as well as connoisseurs seeking rare, authentic pieces of imperial heritage.
