A gorgeous and versatile set from this renowned, luxury china maker...retired but available in excellent condition. This bone china SET of 20 pieces (4 place settings of 5 china pieces each) is from Spode's gorgeous and versatile 'Delphi' pattern (Y8022). This pattern was produced in England between 1962 and 1994. The design features a delicate gold leaf and vine motif around the inner rim with gold trim on the outer edge. This pattern exemplifies Spode's refined craftsmanship and attention to detail with each golden leaf so beautifully painted and the entire pattern one of elegant simplicity and timeless design. More than anything, this design looks lovely when in actual usage and combines well with many other golden accented patterns from Spode. (So, would mix-match nicely with other Spode patterns with just golden trim, for example.) This Delphi pattern was retired by 1994 and so can only be purchased from the secondary / resale market like this listing. This near mint condition set is as close to "new" as you can get when expanding your number of settings or purchasing the set new (see Please Note comment below for quantity of pieces available). Each place setting includes the following piece type, quantity and approximate sizes (diameters measuring across each piece): 4 Dinner Plates - 10.5 inch 4 Salad Plates - 7.875 inch 4 Bread/Dessert Plates - 6.25 inch 4 Tea Saucers - 5.25 inch 4 Tea Cups - 2.5 inches tall x 3 inch wide (at the rim) Condition: Although this set was pre-owned, it was lovingly owned and well protected. Pieces have no major damage (chips, cracks, crazing / crackles, major scratches beyond surface) and do not show excessive usage. Rather each piece appears as nearly new with only minor wear and are quite magnificent. Pictures do not give proper justice to the beauty and elegance of this set.
