Item description
Apache White Fir (Abies concolor)
A stately evergreen tree native to the southwestern United States, particularly the Rocky Mountains and the Sierra Nevada. Thrives in USDA Zones 4-7 and Zone 8 on the West Coast. Preferring full sun to partial shade, it adapts to well-draining soils, including sandy, loamy, and gravelly types, with a slightly acidic to neutral pH (5.5-7.0). Known for its silvery blue-green needles and symmetrical, pyramidal shape, this slow- to moderate-growing tree reaches heights of 30-50 feet with a spread of 20-25 feet at maturity. Highly drought- and cold-tolerant once established, it is ideal for large landscapes, windbreaks, and erosion control on slopes. Wind tolerant and has moderate deer resistance.
Available as 8-14 inch tall 1 year old potted trees.
Its fragrant needles and upright cones add ornamental value, making it a popular choice for parks, gardens and Christmas trees.
Free Shipping to most locations. Larger orders cannot ship to AK, HI, APO, US Territories, or areas considered remote without a freight surcharge.
If your temperature is warmer than 89 degrees or colder than 20 degrees, we will hold your order until temperatures improve.
All plants are inspected for quality prior to shipment. Let us know upon arrival if you have any concerns regarding your plant's condition.
