Signed ORIGINAL Oil or Acrylic Painting of Ocean Waves Crashing on Rocks 16"t x 20"w canvas Dramatic sky, clouds, waves. Original in very good condition. Listed Artist Has been cleaned but may need a deeper cleaning in the cracks, very nice patina. Good price. unframed Signed R Mac Mullen Would appreciate any input as to date of this colorful painting. The range of colors and mood are just magnificent. The back of the stretcher wood appears to have about seven round bug holes on the back indicating it may be from Scotland. The frame is very light wood and has almost a sparkle sheen to the grain, not dull wood. Rocks in the painting are similar to those of the Scottish Highland shore which have orange lichen, alabaster barnacles and red bands, black seaweed and bluish rocks. Artist possibly related to Ramsay MacMullen b.1928 History Prof. at Yale University. Found this painting in San Pedro below Palos Verdes Estates and some Mac Mullens live in Palos Verdes, CA.
