Item description
Up for bid is a lot of Lot Of 5 Vintage Tavern Novelty Angel Candles: 2 large 3 small.These are pre-owned vintage items that have the expected signs of wear and tear. The wicks have never been lit, and therefore, these candles were used for display only. One large candle has some discoloration, as shown in the photos. One small angel's head is disconnected, but it can be easily repositioned by gently pushing it back into place. Please see all pictures before making a bid
Some interesting background information: These candles were produced by the Socony-Vacuum Oil Company which is now Exxon Mobil. They were often sold at dime stores in the 1950's and were made from the excess paraffin from the oil refinery process.
