First edition, first printing.
"First printing" statement to the copyright page, $5.95 to the jacket's flap.
The fourth book (all 4 written under pen names), by Crichton earned an Edgar Award, and was adapted to the 1972 Blake Edwards directed film starring James Coburn and Jennifer O'Neill, titled 'The Carey Treatment'.
A medical mystery and thriller set in Boston, dealing with murder, Boston Society, and 1960s racism, and abortion issues.
This first edition shows seven appendixes to the rear, comprising facts on medical choices, doctors, pathologists, police customs, surgical history, medical abbreviations, medical morals, abortion, white uniform history, and more.
A presentable early first printing book film collectible by the screenwriter and author of ANDROMEDA STRAIN, JURASSIC PARK, COMA, WESTWORLD, THE GREAT TRAIN ROBBERY, and etc.
Light foxing to the outer page edges, name discreetly to the verso of the half-title page's upper corner, else very good plus in black linen over textured light-green boards with red embossed titles to the spine, red-and-white headband and tail-band, black end-papers; in a very good dust jacket with art by Ken Braken, short tears and nicks to the upper spine end, a short tear to the lower front panel's edge, a short surface scuff-line to the front flap fold, and a faint stain spot outline to the upper rear panel end; original printed $5.95 price still intact to the front inner flap, undisclosed pseudonym name teaser to the rear flap.
The dust jacket will be placed in a clear, removable protective sleeve after scanning for this entry.
