Catalog Number: S-4208 Condition Details: Still in ORIGINAL SHRINK-WRAP (opened). Vinyl plays with occasional light-crackles (play-graded). Cover has a section of shrink missing near bottom right of front. Inner-sleeve is generic white. Spine is easy-to-read with little-wear. Shelf-wear along top/bottom-edge and corners. Opening is crisp with signs of light use and a few divots. (Not a cut-out.) Goldsmith used a number of innovative methods to tie the music to the film, such as having an echoplex loop recorded sounds of "call to war" triplets played on the trumpet to musically represent General Patton's belief in reincarnation. The main theme also consisted of a symphonic march accompanied by a pipe organ to represent the militaristic yet deeply religious nature of the protagonist. The music to Patton subsequently earned Goldsmith an Oscar nomination for Best Original Score and was one of the American Film Institute's 250 nominees for the top twenty-five American film scores.
