Item description
This is an original mid-century Roseville Pottery Freesia handled basket vase, shape number 392-10, made in the 1940s. The Freesia line is one of Roseville?s most recognized patterns, prized for its sculpted floral reliefs and soft, blended glazes that move from deep brown at the base to warm amber through the body. Each side features delicately molded freesia blossoms with leafy stems ? an outstanding example of Roseville?s post-Art-Deco craftsmanship.
This 10-inch basket form has a tall arched handle, a gently flared base, and crisp detailing in the flowers and stems. The impressed base mark reads ?Roseville USA 392-10?, confirming authenticity.
Condition:
This vase shows three separate breaks to the handle, all stabilized but visible. If looking at the first image, the damage includes:
A filled chip and touch-up at the 10 o?clock position
A hairline running across the 12 o?clock crown
A smaller chip/fill where the handle meets the shoulder at roughly 4 o?clock
Repairs are solid, the handle is stable, and the vase displays attractively on a shelf, though it should be handled with care. Light age-appropriate glaze wear and minor surface marks throughout. No additional structural cracks noted in the body.
Measurements: Approx. 10 inches tall 6 inches wide
Markings: Impressed Roseville USA 392-10 on base
Date: Circa 1940s
Origin: Roseville, Ohio, USA
Pattern: Freesia
Shape: Handled Basket Vase
A genuine piece of American art pottery history ? priced to reflect its repaired condition but still a beautiful display item for collectors or mid-century decor enthusiasts.
