QUEST OF THE BOGEYMAN
By Frances and Richard Lockridge.
New York: J.B. Lippincott Company, Main Line Mysteries, 1964.
First edition, first printing.
The second mystery featuring NYC police detective Paul Lane, has an additional setting in Connecticut, and a last minute clue is assisted by Toby the tomcat, one of the Lockridges' distinguished gallery of cats.
This series later added Lt. John Stein and ADA Bernie Simmons, to Paul Lane, who all prefigured in the Law and Order TV series.
A presentable vintage collectible.
Last name stamped to the inside front cover, lower front corner tip lightly bumped, minutely crimped to the upper and lower spine edges, pages starting to tan as usual, else very good plus in green linen boards with black Main Line Mysteries skull-train insignia to the front cover and with black titles to the spine; in a very good lightly rubbed dust jacket with art by Arthur Hawkins, with creases and tears to the upper shelf edges, and a few nick to the upper spine area; original printed $3.50 price still intact to the front inner flap.
The jacket will be placed in a clear, removable protective sleeve, after photographing for this entry.
