Rare vintage Western Boulder, Colo. combination hunting knife and hatchet set
Patent No. 1,967,479 (filed 1934, Western States detachable blade system by Harlow Platts)
Includes:
Detachable hatchet head ? approx. 11 inches overall when attached
Detachable clip-point knife blade ? approx. 9OE inches overall when attached
Original pearl celluloid handle
Original tooled brown leather sheath
Handle features internal latch mechanism for secure locking of blades
Made in USA
Knife and axe both fit handle interchangeably as designed
Sheath is in very good condition with only light wear; stitching remains intact
***Beautiful grips. Both blades will need sharpened. Shows patina, pitting, and tarnish from age and use. No cleaning or restoration has been performed?left to the discretion of the new owner. Comes exactly as pictured. Please see photos.***
