Item description
THE LUCK OF TEXAS McCOY
By Carolyn Meyer.
New York: Atheneum, 1984.
First edition, first printing.
"First edition" statement to the copyright page, 1984 to the title page.
By the highly acclaimed children's, historical, and young adult author renowned for her Young Royals series.
Texas McCoy, a sixteen year old, inherits her grandfather's losing-money ranch, sells off a few acres to a western film location group, and tries to make her ranch work--all by herself, with an extra job at a doughnut shop, showing determination, courage, and independence. Then she is hired to teach a young actor to ride.
Fine, tight, square and possibly unread in amber linen with deep-blue embossed titles to the front cover and to the spine, blue-and-white headband and tail-band; in a very nearly fine dust jacket with art by Ed Martinez, with a minuscule crimp to the rear corner of the upper spine edge; original printed $11.95 price still intact to the front inner flap.
A beautifully-preserved first printing collectible.
NOT an ex-library copy, NO marks.
The dust jacket will be placed in a clear, removable protective sleeve after photographing for this entry.
