The Lid Lock Switch is an OEM part compatible with Frigidaire clothes washing machines. It is an electronic sensor located on the washer lid that detects when the lid is closed and locked in place.
Symptoms of a faulty lid lock switch can include:
Inability to start or progress through wash cycles
Error messages regarding lid positioning
Cycles not completing full sequences
Unwanted pausing or stopping of active cycles
The switch plays an important safety role by preventing operation unless the lid is securely shut. Causes of failure could be damage from repeated lid openings/closings, moisture intrusion over time, or simple wear and tear.
This replacement is also compatible with some Electrolux, GE, and LG washers.
