Don Martin Mankiewicz (1922-2015) was a screenwriter and novelist best known for his novel Trial which was the Harper Prize Novel of 1955 and made into the film of the same title starring Glenn Ford, Dorothy MaGuire, Arthur Kennedy, John Hodiak, Katy Jurado, Raphael Campos, and Juano Hernandez. Mankiewicz adapted his novel to this 1955 crime drama about a Mexican boy accused of rape and murder.
