A nice copy of this historical novel set in the American frontier during the late 18th century.
Margaret Hill McCarter (1860 ?1938) was a teacher and novelist who was the best-known and highest-paid novelist in Kansas at the time.
Color frontispiece and three additional plates by J.N. Marchand.
