Higgins' second mystery novel, following his film adapted THE FRIENDS OF EDDIE COYLE, is set on the well-depicted, crime-ridden, mean streets of Boston and features small-time hood Jerry "Digger" Doherty.
Though the rear cover states that a movie is coming soon, a film was never produced for this title.
Higgins' third mystery was adapted to the 2012 film KILLING THEM SOFTLY starring Brad Pitt.
A nice well-preserved first printing collectible.
Fine, square, tight and probably unread in glossy stiff-card wraps with tough gun pointing photo-cover art, "Soon To Be A Major Motion Picture" and "First Time in Paperback" to the rear cover, all page edges green; original printed $1.75 price and code 445-08256 still intact to the front cover.
