First edition thus, first printing; mass-market paperback.
"1st printing February 1954" to the copyright page, code 1459 and .25c to the front cover.
Originally published in 1939 in hardcover, and then in paperback in 1947 under the title THE DRAGON'S TEETH.
Set mainly in New York City, Queen sets up a detective agency office in this mystery and has a veteran private eye friend Beau Rummell, who he enlists for help. Both the detective office and friend never appear in book form again.
A paperback collectible.
Mild bend-creases to the covers, rubbing to the lower spine edge's rear corner, bookshop address stamped to the inside front cover, tiny nick to the front cover's lower shelf-edge, else very good and fairly tight in glossy stiff-card wraps with cover photo-art by Silver Studio, all page edges red; original printed .25c price and code 459 code still intact to the front cover.
Mass-market paperback; 249 pages; plus chapter headings contents, plus cast of characters, plus 1 page of ads to the rear.
