Item description
THIS BUSINESS OF BOMFOG
By Madelaine Duke, pen name of Elizabeth Magda MacFarlane
New York, NY: Curtis Books, Modern Literary Editions Publishing Company, [circa 1970].
First paperback edition, first printing.
Originally published in a U.K. hardcover in 1967, and then a U.S. hardcover in 1969.
This first paperback edition sports 1960s style evocative, mind-sweeping, and introspective cover art, by an uncredited artist.
The second entry in the then near-future, 1989 set, dystopian Claret, Sandwiches and Sin Universe duology by the Ukrainian author, is Huxleyan, involves the "Brotherhood of Man, Fatherhood of God" movement, and features Maxim Donne who naively suggests an alliance to foreigners at the computerized halls of Bomfog House.
A first printing paperback collectible.
A few microscopic rubs to the front cover's fore-edge, a hint of age-toning to the spine, else tight, square, and near fine in glossy stiff-card wraps, all page edges red with the red on the upper pages edges lightly faded; original code 123-07077 and .75c price to the front cover.
Mass-market paperback.
