Rare Antique Childrens 1869 Civil War Era and 47 similar items

RARE never worn pair of antique Spectator style high lace up childrens boots from the Civil War Era. They have original laces, and leather soles squarish toes and interesting 1 piece nailed leather soles. "1869" is written on the bottom, they have apparently been dated by the previous owner , see below. This is part of a collection we recently procured from Carey's Shoe Store, a store that was established in 1919 in Charlevoix, Michigan. The family recently decided to let go of the remaining stock of the store, about 150 pairs, most new and in their original boxes. We will be listing them over the next few months. Marked Size: Not marked. I think they are kids, though they could be very small womens. Measured length outside, heel to toe 9 OE- inside 8" Width across bottom outside: 2 oe Top of boot to top of heel: 5 oe Circumference of boot top: 6 oe Heel: oe CONDITION: Excellent, other than they are slightly different in shade. I don't have an explanation for this.
