This is a Vintage BRANFORD COLLEGIATE SCHOOL PLATE from Syracuse China ~Branford is the oldest of 12 residential colleges at YALE UNIVERSITY ( Yale was founded in 1701 ).The plate has the names of the 10 ministers who founded Yale, along with the names of the towns which they were from , around the rim. Their names are separated by an emblem which was drawn from the a diploma issued by YALE University in 1712 - it is an ornamental capital letter " O" with a bird in the middle. It measures 9" across
