This limited edition pressed intaglio etching is hand signed and numbered in pencil by listed New York artist Al Kaufman (1928-2005) circa 1970's. This print comes double matted and set under glass in copper metal frames.
American artist, Albert Kaufman, also known as Al Kaufman, was born on May 28, 1928 in Brooklyn, New York. His parents were Louis B Kaufman, a German of Jewish heritage and Sarah Shirley Jacobs, of French and Russian heritage. Al Kaufman was born in New York City and grew up in Brooklyn, New York. Albert Kaufman died peacefully at the age of 77 years on November 25, 2005 in New City . Al Kaufman was an American lithographer self-taught artist from the age of 17. His work of etchings and intaglios were created from a 100-year-old printing press on his property located on Cherry Lane, Tallman, New York. Mr. Kaufman combined his love of nature with an imaginative mind to create etchings and intaglios with each one done by hand and individually approved and signed by Mr. Kaufman himself. His pieces are prized by private collectors nationwide.
